Does anyone use this forum? I hope so.
Anyone else having issues with homework 6? I need help plotting in GnuPlot. I don't know how to get my data from my coding file into GnuPlot. The professor glazed over it in a very vague and brief explanation, and I think a lot of people didn't understand it. I've calculated the distance and miles per hour between points, but I'm stuck on graphing them in GnuPlot.

If you're having a problem putting the data into a file GnuPlot can read you need to convert it into a text file. In the lab 4 notes, WinSCP can convert an omega file into a text file or you can just start from scratch in note pad or whatever app as long as it is a .txt file. Download WinSCP and use your regular omega information to login. Once you download it and click yes and okay a few times you should see all the code you've written as text files on the right and your local computer on the left. Just copy the file you need from the right to the left and you should have a readable text file. When converting from Omega use "data.c" in Gnuplot, if you don't convert and write it yourself in notepad it'll be "data.txt" Not sure why exactly but that's how Gnuplot reads it.
Another thing. Type pwd into GnuPlot and something like C:\Users\Santa\Desktop will be the output. This means GnuPlot is trying to find your data file in the desktop, if it's C:\Users\Santa\Documents then it's looking in Documents to find your data file. Be sure to save the data in the correct place so GnuPlot can read it or change your directory.
